What started in a family garage over 60 years ago has grown into one of the East Bay’s most trusted upholstery shops. We may have grown over the years, but we’re still a family-run shop doing things by hand — one piece at a time. In fact, some of the equipment we still use today dates back to the shop’s earliest days, including the original sewing machine passed down through the family over the years. It’s a reminder that true craftsmanship never goes out of style.

Our team averages over 10 years of experience. We retie springs, rebuild frames, replace cushions, and recover every piece like it’s our own.   •   The folks at Discount Upholstry were great and walked me through the process. Started out be getting a quote online, not all upholstery places are able to work on office chair, due to the seams on the plastic frame backing.

    Then went in-store to pick out the fabric. I wanted to change out my fabric cushions on my office chair as it was staining and creasing. After I picked out the new material all I had to do was wait and get the cushions back.

    Everything fit perfectly as cushions are taught as if they were brand new. Even with the new material the grooves and contours were all maintained. Happy with the craftsmanship that Discount Upholstery provided. Highly recommend.

      Nice friendly staff that knows the business. Our project was small and was delivered on time and on budget. We found this to be a very satisfying experience and there are not too many alternatives. We will return with a second project.

  •   I washed my couch covers and thought I could put them back on. Nope. I called these guys, and they put them back on like I nothing. So so relieved!!!! I will call these guys always first for upholstery anything. So friendly, and they saved my favorite favorite couches!!!

      We have a huge couch with one seat cushion over 9' long that felt like you were falling into a pit every time you sat on it. Ben helped us get new high density foam and it feels like a completely new sofa. It's perfect. The price was reasonable and they turned it around very quickly. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

      We have a headboard in our toddler's bedroom that our dog and cats ruined. It is a pricey, upholstered "grow with me" crib to full sized bed so I was pretty upset thinking we would have to throw it away.
    So grateful to have found Discount Upholstery! The service professional and timely. They not only saved the bed but my daughter's future heirloom. BTW, they picked up and delivered.
    Would absolutely recommend.
